Born on the cusp of Taurus-Gemini. An alchemy of Earth and Air, a combination of practicality and intellect, a Shylock and an airhead rolled into one. Felix Fojas is a member of PEN International, the Academy of American Poets, and the Philippine Literary Arts Council. He holds a B.A. degree in English and Comparative Literature, an M.A. degree in Linguistics and Literature, and a doctorate degree in Metaphysical Science from the University of the Philippines (Diliman, Quezon City, Philippines), De La Salle University(Taft Avenue, Manila, Philippines) and University of Metaphysics, (Hollywood, California, U.S.A.), respectively. Fojas was the recipient of a creative writing fellowship from Cambridge University, England. He also attended the 18th Midwest Writers Annual Conference at Kent State University, Ohio, U.S.A., the Silliman University Writers Workshop, and the University of the Philippines Summer Writers Workshop.

A former creative director in various multinational advertising agencies, freelance journalist, magazine columnist, newspaper editor, and university professor, Felix Fojas has won numerous advertising and literary awards. These include a CLIO Award for Advertising Excellence Worldwide, New York, 1977; the Cultural Center of the Philippines Annual Literary Awards, 1977; the 1985 Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature, Philippines; the 1987 Golden Poet Award, World of Poetry, Sacramento, California; Honorable Mention, Writers’ Journal December 2000 Poetry Contest; The President’s Award for Literary Excellence 2002, The National Authors Registry, Michigan; and the 2003 Editor’s Choice Award, Snake Nation Review, Georgia. Fojas has lectured at the University of California at Davis, Sacramento State University and Sacramento City College.
